The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are 17 interconnected global goals designed to be a blueprint for achieving a better, more sustainable future for all. The SDG were established in 2015 by the United Nations General Assembly and are intended to be achieved by 2030.
Business can contribute in different ways to SDG 9. There are certain companies whose core business is more directly linked to this Objective, such as those in the industrial sector.
Small and medium-sized enterprises engaged in industrial processing and manufacturing production are the most critical in the early stages of industrialization and are typically the largest job creators. They make up more than 90% of companies worldwide and account for between 50 and 60% of employment.
At CHL98 we help these companies meet some of the targets of Goal 9:
9.1 Develop reliable, sustainable, resilient and quality infrastructure, including regional and cross-border infrastructure, to support economic development and human well-being, with particular emphasis on affordable and equitable access for all.
9.2 Promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and, by 2030, significantly increase the contribution of industry to employment and gross domestic product, in accordance with national circumstances, and double this contribution in the least developed countries.
9.4 By 2030, modernize infrastructure and convert industries to be sustainable, using resources more efficiently and promoting the adoption of clean and environmentally sound technologies and industrial processes, and ensuring that all countries take action according to their respective capabilities.
